American Natural is disrupting the convenience store industry with a fundamentally healthier selection of products and fresh food, hot food options. We are currently looking for an Accounting Supervisor to oversee our accounting department’s daily operations. You will work closely with a team of accountants to manage financial functions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, bank reconciliations and state local and excise tax preparation and review. Our ideal candidate leverages strong analytical skills and previous ERP data management experience to complete and review various accounting processes. To succeed in this role, you should also have a problem-solving attitude and be able to manage a team.
Job Duties Include:
- Supervise the preparation of Account reconciliations (Cash, prepaids, accrued expenses, Debt and PPE)
- Supervise the preparation of various sales and excise taxes
- Supervise preparation of bi-monthly payroll
- Review check runs
- Supervise Convenience Store month end close which includes identifying and resolving accounting issues
- Supervise and review of rebate accounting
- Ensure that companywide credit card activity is properly recorded
- Prepare intercompany account reconciliation on a monthly basis
- Lead the accounting setup for new stores
- Special projects with the Controller and CFO
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent management and supervisory skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Previous experience with ERP systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Sophisticated Microsoft Excel skills
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Five years or more of related experience required
- Certified Public Accountant designation highly preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Able to travel as needed
